New Weekly Toddler/Children Cooking challenge!

Ok I had a little brain wave yesterday whilst baking with Kayleigh, we are always looking for new ideas and are constantly looking at other blogs and forums for ideas to try.

That’s when it hit me, why not do a weekly cooking challenge. The recipes will be provided from the lovely Utterly Scrummy Blog (and if anyone else wants to participate in future please feel free!) and will be published on a Friday with the linky going up on this site the following Thursday (for 24 hours) for people to come share their results. Giving you 7 days to try it our, blog about it, then come back here to share.

It’s not a case of who can cook better than who, its more about getting toddlers and children involved and having fun whilst learning the basics in cooking.

I admit I’m not the best cook (please see our Piggypips biscuit disaster) but we do tend to do a bit of baking every weekend as Kayleigh loves it and its a bit of bonding for us no matter how inedible they are!

So I would love to hear your thoughts on here and if you are interested 🙂

  • Sounds like a great idea – sadly I don’t have an oven so anything baking related is not for me 🙁

We will be doing a mixture of things, not all needing an oven so stay tuned 🙂

  • Great idea. Mine have made crumble toppings, choc chip cookies, scrambled eggs and stir fry. In fact, the oldest is six and already a better cook than his father!

Wow sounds like they’ve done really well already 🙂

  • I have a monthly (ish) Cooking with Kids challenge like this and I love the fact that it gets the kids involved in cooking – anything that gets them in the kitchen having fun is a good thing if you ask me. Good Luck x

  • Hi,just popped over from Britmums as I saw your post. I’m doing a similar thing – also on a Friday (must be the day for Toddler cooking!), mine is just us posting our recipe with a Linky once a month for others to join in – I will try & join in with yours too. It’s great to get the toddlers involved, they love it.
