That would have to be the matchbox track, we used to have a great amount & would run it from the top of the stairs, through the living room, into the kitchen, then the dinning room & back into the hallway. Having four brothers we had lots of cars, any that got “bumped” off we than ran back up the stairs & sent it back down. We had hours of fun doing this, thou we must have caused Mother awful problems with all the track throughout the downstair of the home, but I never remember her complaining.

My favourite toy was a doll called Sophie. I had her from being 3 years old. She was soft bodied with a hard head, hands and legs/feet etc. A couple of years later she were falling to bits and her arms were hanging off her body. I refused to let her go and used to make my mum bandage her arms and legs up all the time. I think her head even started coming off in the end but we’d keep bandaging her up. I found out from my daughter a few weeks ago that she plays with a poorly doll baby called Sophie when she visits her grandma & grandad. I  had no idea they had still kept her after all these years! :)
