*Review* La Hacienda Murcia Large Black Steel Chimenea

A few weeks ago I took delivery of a La Hacienda Murcia Large Black Steel Chimenea from Garden XL (I’m to blame for the rain!)

If you’ve never heard of Garden XL before they are an online store who have a whole host of garden products from barbeques to furniture and even wellies. Not to mention they also do indoor items, pet items and I’ve just seen Christmas items on their site too!

Last year I did a post on our garden and my dreams for it, in a bid to win a makeover (I didn’t win….boooo!) however Garden XL read that post and offered me the chance to review one of their chimenea’s which was on my wish list.

When I took delivery of my chimenea I was a bit taken back by the small box. I couldn’t work out whether it was going to be tiny or I would be sat in the garden assembling it.

Thankfully it required a bit of assembling and it was a great size.

I set about getting the bits for the chimenea out of the box and I admit I was a little daunted by the amount of piece’s there was to build however I managed to follow the instructions and build it on my own is less than 30 minutes.

Chimnea

The chimenea stands an impressive 107cm in height and is made of galvanised steel. It weighs a little over 7kg before the logs are put it so it is a little heavy for someone like me to move around however it is beautiful.

With the chimnea you also get:

  • Fuel grate
  • Rain lid
  • Flue guard
  • Cooking Grill.

I am really looking forward to cracking on with the last step of our garden and getting the decking in order as it looks amazing and sitting out in the evening with this burning to provide us with heat outdoors is going to be magical.

One thing I think I am going to invest in is the cover to protect the chimenea, as with any steel item in the garden it will eventually start to rust and I think for the extra few pounds it will help ensure it lasts for a long time.

If your thinking of getting a feature for the garden that is also practical I would recommend the La Hacienda Murcia Large Black Steel Chimenea, though there are other designs and brands available over at Garden XL’s garden heating section.
