Ordinary moments – 06/07/15 – Park days

Trying to balance work and home life is hard going during the week, especially as the kids have swimming and tennis after school and Daddy Vs Work has football one day too. So everything fun seems to be crammed into the other days or recently at the weekend.

I find myself starting the weekend with the housework on Saturday and from there its the family time or running around to the shops etc for things we never get round to doing during the week.

However recently we’ve been trying to make a bit more of our family time, getting out the house to do something, even if its not really anything spectacular, just spending some quality time together the 4 of us. Being silly, running around and just enjoying each others company.

Last week we decided to go bowling then this week we’ve been to the park a couple of times.

I say park, its basically a big field up the top of a hill with a tyre swing, logs in some climbing frame and a little assult course however where for some reason it is always empty and it is only 5 minutes from our house so we are making the most of it.

There is just something about being outdoors that Kayleigh and Ethan love, they are always in our garden playing so I can’t wait for that makeover to be done in the next 18 months but going to the park give’s them this great big sense of adventure, its a place where their imagination comes alive and they can be anything they want to be.

Yesterday they we’re king and queen of the castles and then spiders blasting off into space in a tyre rocket….. I know, they are pretty awesome when it comes to their imaginations but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So cute and there’s nothing better than their imaginations is there? I love hearing what my girls will come up with next. And you can’t beat a trip to the park, it’s one of our favourite things to do.

My two love it though I’m dubious you could even call it a park! However they love it threre and it lets them be kids and use their imagination to have fun which i love.

I love that picture of your daughter on the tree stump – pure joy! I love listening to my eldest acting out imaginary worlds, at the moment she likes being a “superhero pirate” or playing mummy to her dolls.

I love how innocent their minds can be and in their world they can be anything they want to be 🙂
