We are all pleased to announce we are part of the Blogger Board Game Club. This means every month we will receive a new game to try out and give our honest opinion on.
This month we received Hey, that’s my fish! I’ll be honest, I have never heard of it before and wasn’t even sure on what the game was about. That however didn’t stop us from getting stuck in.
Now if you are like me and have never heard of the game, let me give you a quick rundown.
This is a fast-paced game in which you move your penguins around the board collecting as many fish as you can, but be quick, you don’t want to be sent floating off on an iceberg by your opponent.
The game comes to an end when no one can move anymore and your winner is the one who has collected the most amount of fish.
In terms of the board, this is created by using the 6- ice floe tiles (each with 1, 2 or 3 fish on), set up into rows of 7 and 8 tiles until they are all used. As you move off a tile to your next one, you collect that tile and the fish, removing it from the game. This means no one else can step on that tile and must find a new route round.
I was a little unsure at first how the kids would find this game however they were ruthless!
The amount of times my little penguin got isolated was ridiculous and I had to play clever just to escape! It was good for them too as it meant they had to think a step ahead of their move to keep themselves safe!
This is a fast game to set up and play, with no complicated rules either it makes it an all-round family hit in our household.
It is compact enough also that we are planning to take it with us when we head away on holiday soon, this can be played anywhere with little planning so perfect for those lazy days by the pool.
