*Review* Octaspring 8000 mattress

Earlier in the year I won the biggest prize I had ever won, a Octaspring 8000 mattress. When the email came in I was so shocked, I was literally shaking!

The scary thing was about 3 weeks before we had seem the mattress on the tv and Daddy Vs Work had mentioned looking into them as both of us were suffering at night, him with his poorly back and me with the pains resulting from the accident but it was out of our price range meaning winning was like a dream come true.

We had to wait to take delivery as we were away but I was more than excited when it arrived!

The mattress is a deep mattress with three layers. Here is a little bit more information on each layer :

The top layer of the mattress is comprised of 5cm deep visco-elastic memory foam Octasprings arranged to create 3 support zones. This is topped by an additional 4cm thick memory foam layer, giving an overall memory foam depth of 9cm.

The middle layer is formed of 5 zones of Octasprings of different densities arranged in support zones to create a sleeping environment which provides more support where the body is naturally heavier and more comfort where your body is lighter. This layer is 5cm thick.

The third layer of Octasprings is 5cm deep and designed to give a supportive foundation to the mattress and aid air flow.

Once the mattress was in place the first thing I did was jump onto the bed. This was a bit of a mistake as the mattress felt quiet hard. It took me by surprise as I was expecting it to be sponge like and it didn’t feel like that.

So I sat on the bed for a little while and when I got up I had left an imprint (not because I’m that heavy!) but because of the memory foam. That’s when I realised that it doesn’t just give when you put weight on it but it actually takes time to mould around you and support you in the right places.

The first few nights took a bit of getting used to, going from a spring mattress to a foam mattress however now I would never go back.

Our Octaspring 8000 mattress is the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on and I feel very fortunate to have won it!
