The blog has been full of topics of getting healthy and fit this month (sorry it is January after all!) however one thing I haven’t discussed in these is exercise…
Since August last year when I had my operation I haven’t been able to exercise at all however that is all about to change.
Yesterday I had my 5 month follow up with the consultant at the hospital and the good news to come out of that was my foot was healing as expected and I am now allowed to start working out again.
Of course I will need to be taking it easy so there will be no running allowed to begin with however I am allowed to start with things such as using an electric bike whilst I build my fitness back up. This will allow me to be able to build up my fitness levels and the strength in my foot again, getting me back onto the road to full recovery and fitness.
With anything though the one thing I have learn’t is I need to allow myself time. Getting fit takes time for everyone however with a major reconstruction like I have had on my foot I will need to give my body time to recover and rebuild which will take longer than normal.
If you are getting back on the fitness the one thing I would recommend is allowing yourself time. You will struggle at times and even feel like giving up but don’t.
No one can jump straight in and be fit straight away. As you continue to work out you will build up the strength and stamina to push on. You will be so proud of yourself for achieving your end result too, not matter how long it takes.
I will be tracking my fitness with a MISFIT Shine 2 Activity Tracker and you have the chance to win your own! If you are on a fitness mission this year and want to get fit and healthy again this will be the perfect prize for you.
For your chance to win all you need to do is follow the simple steps in the rafflecopter below.
