With Easter just around the corner, the shops are jam-packed with delicious foods such as Easter eggs, various flavoured hot cross buns and so much more.

Other than Christmas it has to be one of the best times of the year for food I’m sure. However, it can lead to a little bit of overindulgence and not to mention spending…

If you own a breadmaker already, did you know you can make your own tasty hot cross bun loaf with little effort? Once you’ve weighed out the ingredients, all you need to do is leave it to do its thing and wait for it to be done. It smells amazing and it fills your house with a gorgeous scent of Easter.

We were fortunate to be gifted a breadmaker when my inlaws moved house and since we’ve had that we have been able to make our own bread, pizza dough and dough balls. There is so much more it can do too, we just need to get a bit of confidence in playing around with the recipes.

This recipe cooks on setting 3 of our Panasonic breadmaker and takes 4 hours to cook, something to maybe set off in the morning ready for when you get home after a long day at work. It tastes amazing and is also perfect for toasting too!

Now, this loaf is delicious on its own however if you wanted to add a little something to it, you could brush the top with a little apricot jam warmed up, or pop it in the toast for a minute to warm up then add a little butter for the final touch.

This loaf is delicious and can be enjoyed all year round, let me know how you get on if you give it a try. You can check out our other great recipes here.
