With less than 6 weeks until Christmas, many of us are starting to think about our gift lists. When it comes to children though, it can be a bit of a minefield with so many new toys launching over the festive period.

I was very lucky to head to Christmas in July this year and with many amazing toys on display, I got a sneak peak at what was coming out in time for the big day. However, since then, there have also been some amazing products launched that I didn’t get to see.

Here are the best gift ideas I have found out this Christmas, with items for stocking fillers through to gifts for under the tree.

Sphero is a brand we discovered last year and I love just everything about the brand. Their ethos is to inspire the creators of tomorrow and the products they come up with are there to challenge the imagination and make learning and discovering fun. This year they have brought to the market a product called Specdrums. It all works by a little gadget on your finger which reads colours, as it does it can play a sound that goes with that colour, you can then create your own music from this using different colours in your everyday surrounding or by the app. It is such an amazing item, I wish it was something I was able to bring in at the school I work!

The Amazing Mystery Box

This gift idea is one of my favourites! I am a geek at heart so this is right up my street, forget the kids!

If you are looking to gift something a little different, how about a mystery box. This could be a one-off or you could gift a subscription to a gift box suitable for your recipient. With options such as cartoons, Star Wars, Dr Who and DC comics, this is sure to bring the inner geek out in many people!

The box we received was packed full of items that I know Ethan is going to love, though I am tempted to keep the Pikachu hat for myself.  All the merchandise is licensed, official and genuine, so you know you are getting what you paid for. With each box costing £19.99 and the value inside being over £40, you know you are getting good value for money.
