*Review* Monopoly Classic Game with new tokens

Monopoly is the classic game that will never go out of fashion.

In fact I’m pretty sure I don’t know anyone who has never played one form of Monopoly and there is lots of them on the market. We have 5 different themes of Monopoly but surprisingly we never had a classic version of the game.

Hasbro kindly sent us the new Monopoly classic version of the games which comes with new game tokens. You now get:

  • Dog (classic token right here!)
  • Hat
  • Car
  • Boat
  • Cat
  • Dinosaur
  • Penguin
  • Rubber duck (my personal favourite!)

This was the first time Kayleigh and Ethan had seen the classic board, after picking their tokens, war commenced.

There is no “go kindly on children” in this house when it comes to board games. They are more ruthless than we are!

It was fun watching them thinking about their next moves, Ethan became a property tycoon buying up everything he possibly could, Kayleigh took a little longer to think about her purchases. What I did love though was the fun we had as a family.

When you have small children you spend a lot of time playing games that are simplified for little ones, when they start to get a bit bigger it becomes a whole new world. They both loved the classic Monopoly and we have played it several times in the week we have had it.

As with any great game, each time we have played it the competition has increased as the kids have become wiser to how the game plays out.

This new edition is very similar to the old editions however with new tokens to play with. The kids both loved the new tokens and I think they are more appealing to the younger players however I was a bit partial to play as the rubber duck!

I don’t think Monopoly will never go out of fashion and although we have some great versions of the game, you can’t beat the classic game!

Thank you Hasbro for sending us the game to enjoy over the summer holiday!
