I made the decision a few months ago that I really needed to downsize my handbag as other than the standard purse, keys, phone and wipes. I only really carried small things such as pain killers etc so I really don’t need a huge bag on a day-to-day basis.
However I never got round to selecting a new bag but I did get very lucky as The Old Bag Company got in touch to see if I would like to review their Sophie Shopper (Oilcloth).
I selected the grey coloured bag as I fancied something a little simpler after having a teal bag for the last year.
The Old Bag Company was founded by Sally in 2004 after finding herself surrounded on the beach with her 5 children and shopping in various carrier bags, she decided to design a more practical beach bag and the brand has expanded from there.
Sally donates a percentage of the Ellie Junior bags to a local charity, Families for Children, an Adoption Agency and Charity Trust who place children from all over the country with families in Devon and Cornwall.
She chose this charity as The Old Bag Company is a family business and Sally herself is adopted. Inside each Ellie Junior bag is a label thanking you for buying this bag and helping the charity.
When my bag arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the size, it was just what I was looking for.
The design is very clean and simple which is perfect.
On the outside you have 2 pockets which is perfect for umbrellas or bottles of drinks on the go and then on the inside you have 2 smaller pockets for keys or work passes etc as well as a larger zipped pockets for other items.
On of my favourite features is the little metal feet on the bottom of the bag, my bag is forever on the floor where I am putting it down to do something with the kids.
The Sophie bag retails at £42.99 which is in my eyes a bargain as it is extremely well made and is going to last a long time!
