*Review* Tickets to Ride by Days of Wonder

We have been very fortunate over the last year to be part of the Asmodee UK Blogger Board Game Club. This has meant over the last 12 months we have able to review to some fab board games which have become firm family favourites such as Carcassonne and Colt Express.

One thing I have really enjoyed is the choice of games sent to us may not be something we would have been drawn to in the shops however it’s turned out to be a game that we have really enjoyed.

This one is no different.

Tickets to Ride is a simple but fun game to play. The overall idea of the game is to get as many points as your can by making your trains get from one destination to another. The longer the train the better as it gets your more points.

There are also destination cards that can get you bonus points at the end if you make your train get to and from certain destinations.

The way the game work:

  • You are dealt train car cards which you need to gather the same colours to make your route.
  • Once you have a set number of cards of the same colour (1 to 6) you can play your cards and score your points. For example, 4 cards of the same colour played will get you 7 points.
  • There is also the chance to score bonus points with the destination cards are the end of the game.
  • The winner is the player with the most points once someone has run out of trains.Tickets to ride review

We found this game easy to not only set up and get going, but also to play. The rules and concept are simple, and we have loved playing it.

This is probably one of our favourite games we have received as part of the Asmodee UK Blogger Board Game (alongside Carcassonne) and I am sure it will be something we will be playing a lot more in the future. We already have plans to try out the Great Britain expansion when we get some pennies!
