This week is Wednesday and we are back with another blogger in the hot seat. Today we are welcoming Beth from Twinderelmo to the seat to share her thoughts on all things blogging related!
Tell us a little bit about you & your blog:
My name is Beth and I am a married 30-something Mum of three living in Shropshire. My son is 8 and my identical twin girls will be 4 in June. My blog is Twinderelmo and I started it back in october 2013 when my girls were babies. It started as a journal but has evolved as a place to share the ups and downs of life along with a good dollop of humour. What inspired you to start blogging?
When I found out I was expecting identical twins, i turned to Google and it was ful of negative stories all about high risk pregnancies and premature births. I wanted to try to put out a more positive aspect for those newly pregnant twin parents that it doesn’t automatically mean problems.
What has been your highlight of blogging?
I was asked by Mumsnet to guest post about losing my Mother. I was honoured that my writing about such a personal and sensitive subject was used. The comments were so beautiful and really made me feel proud that I shared our story.
Is there anything you have learnt about blogging which you wish you knew when you started out?
That it is OK to say no! In the early days I was so worried about saying no that i would end up blacklisted, but not everything is suitable and it’s not always worth it. Stand your ground and stay true to yourself.
Bloggers sometimes get a lot of stick however many work really hard and are reaping the rewards, what has been the most rewarding part of blogging for you?
Meeting so many wonderful friends. I genuinely have made some truly amazing people who I get to call my friends. I am so glad I started as these people are fantastic and my life is so much better for having them in it.
What would be your 1 tip you would give all new bloggers starting out?
Don’t pressurise yourself. I see so many new bloggers expecting the world after a few weeks. Blogging is a hard slog and it’s not a sprint but a marathon.
Who do you find inspiring to read/watch in the blogging world?
Lastly – do you have any big plans/dreams for your blog in the next 12 months?
We are planning a trip to Disney World so see my blog incorporating it a lot. It’s a topic i am more than happy to blog and chat about forever so I am looking forward to documenting our trip of a lifetime!
Thank you for taking part Beth it has been great having you!
