Good morning and welcome back to our latest Wise Words Wednesday post. Today we are welcoming Angela who blogs over at The Life Of Spicers to the hot seat.
As you will read Angela has been blogging since 2008 and shares lots of adventures and money related posts on the blog.
Lets hand over to her and she can share her journey with you:
Tell us a little bit about you and your blog:
I started blogging in 2008 just after my daughter was born. After a few failed blogs, The Life Of Spicers was born in 2012 after I realised how much I missed the online community that surrounded blogging. The Life Of Spicers has evolved over the years as my daughter has gotten older, I have moved the focus away from her and onto my passions that include all things Disney and travelling. I am always looking for ways to make and save money to achieve more holidays to Walt Disney World, so money saving posts are becoming more frequent as well.
What inspired you to start blogging?
I have always loved writing and social media, so when I found blogging I knew it was going to suit me perfectly.
What has been your highlight of blogging?
I have met some lovely people through blogging, both online and in real life. When I sit back and look at what blogging can bring, I am still amazed and feel lucky that I am part of the community. One of my highlights recently was chatting to the WDW Twitter team just before our 2017 trip to Walt Disney World, and having the opportunity to take a Fireworks Cruise during our trip.
Is there anything you have learnt about blogging which you wish you knew when you started out?
I wish I had understood SEO when I started out. I cringe at some of my earlier blog posts now. Still it all helps with the learning process.
Bloggers sometimes get a lot of stick however many work really hard and are reaping the rewards, what has been the most rewarding part of blogging for you?
I can hand on heart say that even if blogging never earnt me any money I would still do it. I love everything about it, learning new things daily, writing and interacting on social media. I just wish I had more time to dedicate to it.
What would be your 1 tip you would give all new bloggers starting out?
Don’t try to follow others, be yourself and find your own voice. Enjoy what you write about otherwise you’ll get bored. Quickly.
Who do you find inspiring to read/watch in the blogging world?
I read quite a lot of blogs, plenty of bloggers stand out to me for many different reasons, and I couldn’t name them all.
Lastly – do you have any big plans/dreams for your blog in the next 12 months?
I would really like to be earning a full time income from my blog this time next year.
