It’s Wednesday and not only are you half way through the week we are welcoming the lovely Kristie to the blogger hotseat today!
Kristie shares lots of different parts of their lives on the blog however I’ve found reading the Bilingual Children round up’s really interesting. It show’s how much children can absorb if we give them a chance.
Time to hand over to her now to share her blogginng journey.
Tell us a little bit about you & your blog:
I’m Kristie and founder of Mammaprada.com. I’m an English Wife to an Italian Husband and Mamma to two bambini! My daughter is 2 and my son 5 years old. We’re raising our children bilingually and I blog about our journey on Mammaprada and also write about anything Italian such as food, wine, travel and culture.
What inspired you to start blogging?
After having my second child it just wasn’t worth going to back to work in a conventional way. I joined Instagram by chance and realised there were so many other mums doing different and incredible things. It was really inspiring.
What has been your highlight of blogging?
The least obvious highlight is I think it kept me sane! For me it’s great to have a purpose outside of motherhood which is amazing but tough at times. Then the most surprising highlight has been the amount of wonderful people I’ve met online and then some also in real life. Blogging and social media get a bad name but there is a real community as well which do look out for other.
Is there anything you have learnt about blogging which you wish you knew when you started out?
Verify your site with Google straight away! I learnt this about this 5 months into my blogging journey and feel I wasted that time.
Bloggers sometimes get a lot of stick however many work really hard and are reaping the rewards, what has been the most rewarding part of blogging for you?
It’s very true, I wrote about this recently as many of us are working longer hours than we did in an office but are treated as if we are just here to blag a freebie! The most rewarding part is without doubt the flexibility it gives me around my children.
What would be your 1 tip you would give all new bloggers starting out?
To just reach out and ask people questions even if it’s awkward. You will be surprised how many people will help you.
Who do you find inspiring to read/watch in the blogging world?
I love reading Hey is that me? Cee is fantastic online and IRL and a great writer.
Lastly – do you have any big plans/dreams for your blog in the next 12 months?
Too many! I want to start offering some helpful downloads on my site for parents raising bilingual children, focus on Pinterest and write at least 3 times a week!
