Good morning, time for another blogger to take to the hot seat and share their journey. This week we are introducing you to Simone who blogs over at Midlands Traveller .
Simone’s blog focuses on business, travel and wellness as she shares her travel journeys with her readers.
Over to Simone:
Tell us a little bit about you & your blog:
My name is Simone and I am a Brazilian journalist living in the UK for nearly seven years. My blog, Midlands Traveller , is about business opportunities also focused on the travel industry and wellness. I love presenting quirky independent businesses to my audience and I found a way of doing this on my blog.
What inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging long time ago when I was studying journalism in Brazil. I always was fascinated with the idea of freedom Internet can provide you. So, blogging became a natural exercise along the years. It is how I can spread my creativity writing about things that I love. Travelling is what inspiring me most. I love getting involved with different cultures, flavours, languages and I just love writing about it.
What has been your highlight of blogging?
I was lucky enough to have met some wonderful people while blogging. And I am proud of my series of interviews on Meet the Business. It is a space to introduce products and services that became one of my highlights when blogging.
Is there anything you have learnt about blogging which you wish you knew when you started out?
I wish I was more courageous to invest in my blog as business in the beginning. I am starting to understand how things work now, after nearly four years since I founded Midlands Trade.
Bloggers sometimes get a lot of stick however many work really hard and are reaping the rewards, what has been the most rewarding part of blogging for you?
I guess it is when people leave a comment saying they enjoyed the reading and they feel inspired by something I wrote about. It is rewarding.
What would be your 1 tip you would give all new bloggers starting out?
Just go for it! Don`t be afraid of what will people say about your writing, just do what you love and be persistent because blogging is a rollercoaster ride. Inspiration comes and goes. You just need to find the balance.
Who do you find inspiring to read/watch in the blogging world?
I am inspired by travelling bloggers and magazines that I read constantly. I am also inspired by my favourite writers like Alan De Botton, that is someone who can put the words together in a very clever way and I love his writing style. I am also inspired by youtubers such as Casey Neistat that is one of the most creative people on audio visual.
Lastly – do you have any big plans/dreams for your blog in the next 12 months?
Yes, I`d love to invest more on Midlands Traveller ’s youtube channel. It is my major plan for 2018. So, this way I can also be more creative with my blog with audio and visual as well.
