As a hard-working parent with a full-time job, you know how stressful and demanding it can be, trying to juggle so many demands and duties. You probably find yourself daydreaming about taking a well-deserved holiday and escaping to a sandy, tropical beach.
If you’re in need of a holiday, or simply want somewhere to fantasise about, here are four destinations that provide the perfect escape, for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway.
Morocco
While Morocco may not be the first place that comes to mind when you’re looking for a tranquil escape, with cities like Marrakesh, it’s worth considering. Although it can be busy, the sights and experiences will whisk you away, making you forget about your stresses.
From sitting in a carriage as a horse pulls you through ancient streets and the chance to sample delicious cuisine, to stunning stretches of beaches and the incredible landscapes of the Atlas Mountains, Morocco is the perfect place to lose yourself.
Iceland
One of the ultimate bucket list destinations for many, Iceland has almost everything you could want for a relaxing retreat – that is, as long as your ideal getaway doesn’t require tropical temperatures and bikini-clad days on the beach.
Ideal for a magical winter getaway, here you can see the Northern Lights and take a dip in one of the country’s many hot springs. Alternatively, visit in the summer where you can hike to breath-taking waterfalls, take a road trip, or enjoy the 24-hour sunshine.
Indonesia
When you think of a relaxing holiday in Southeast Asia, your first thought is most likely Thailand. While, when someone mentions Indonesia, your mind probably jumps to Bali. However, as a country composed of over 13,000 islands (the biggest island country in the world), there’s a lot more to see.
From Wakatobi, one of the most popular choices with divers, to the scenic forests of Morotai, as well as the untouched volcanic Weh Island, Indonesia is the ultimate choice for those in search of escapism.
Costa Rica
Continually voted the happiest country in the world, Costa Rica is clearly a must when you need to unwind. Afterall, when it comes to culture and scenery, this relatively small country in Central America has everything you want for a chilled-out escape.
Depending on your preferences, take a trek through the Monteverde Cloud Forest where you can actually walk across bridges suspended high up in the clouds, jump into a waterfall or simply spend your time lounging on a beach.
Whether you have the time and the funds to jet off to some of these places, or simply need to escape to a gorgeous location in your mind, hopefully these incredible destinations will do the job and help you to relax.
