Each type of floor has its specific properties and qualities, but the choice of a floor covering is above all aesthetic and must adapt to the room where it will be installed. Several solutions are possible and can be chosen according to desires but also to budget and technical constraints. How to choose your floor covering? If you are looking for flooring for your business, then practicality plays a part of course. You may have considered wooden floors or perhaps epoxy floors, but it is important to do your research well. The different types of flooring available vary in price and in maintenance levels/costs therefore you need to see what will be beneficial for your office space and what is better for the home.

The polished/laminate floor

It offers a traditional and aesthetic finish. Its maintenance is more delicate. A parquet with broad boards makes it possible to enlarge the room. The thin blades visually lengthen the room or give it character. The laminate is a floor covering composed of support of wood fibres and decoration printed onto paper and coated with a protective film. Laminate offers many styles of decoration with patina veining effects, a large choice of colours, a bleached look, metal or waxed concrete. Its formats are varied and exist in standard or wide planks and in the form of concrete effect slabs or tile imitation. There are several levels of resistance to impact, puncturing, scratching and chemicals. This is great for office floors to add a chic look. They are also incredibly easy to clean and mop up but beware of uneven or slippery surfaces if you have people using and visiting the offices regularly.

PVC floors PVC floor

Often more economical, easy to install and maintain, PVC flooring has been modernized by becoming decorative with its many colours, original patterns and material imitations. It is ideal for rentals, small rooms or renovation and its ease of installation makes it accessible to beginner DIY enthusiasts. It is available in the form of tiles, slats or rolls. Tiles and adhesive planks are placed on a smooth floor. Stick-on tiles are designed for uneven floors and are easily removable which makes them a great choice! If you are renting the property then that will be particularly helpful when the time comes to return the space to its former glory.

Comfort advantage of carpet

Whether synthetic or natural, carpet is making a comeback in our interiors. Insulating, it is an ideal solution to reduce noise and vibrations. Warm, it gives a comfortable aspect to the room and is particularly pleasant to the touch. Some carpets are often stain-resistant.  Despite all this progress, it is not recommended to use it in the main room which is subject to heavy traffic. For maintenance, nothing could be simpler: a vacuum cleaner. And for spring cleaning, a good shampoo or dry cleaning. Carpets look lush but they may not be as preferable in office spaces; but for homes, naturally they offer a cosy and plush look.
