With the new year here, many of us are starting to think about renovation plans for our homes but if you are like me, the thought of decorating after the renovation we did a few years ago just does not appeal to me!
However, there are plenty of ways to renovate a room without completely redecorating it and I am going to give you a little inspiration to get you started.
Wall stickers
If your walls are in good condition, rather than completely redecorating the room have you considered wall stickers? There is a whole host of designs now and wall stickers to enhance your place in a style to suits you and the best part is you do not need to be a professional to put them up! If you can’t find the right design for you, there is also the option to create custom stickers for your space too. This would allow you to make the design fit your room and vision.
Wall stickers like this are perfect for kids rooms, as you know their likes and dislike change so often, this is the perfect way to keep up with their changing trends as they move through the age groups!
Soft furnishings
A really easy way to change the appearance and feel of a room is to revamp the soft furnishings. Blinds, curtains, cushions and throws can make such a difference to a room that changing them and colours of these can have a huge impact on the room.
Revamping the room this way does not need to cost a fortune either as many stores such as supermarkets, Matalan, Primark and others sell these items are a reasonable price and there is a great range to pick from these days.
Although trends may change all the time, it doesn’t mean you need to change yours. Many soft furnishings will stay good for a number of years and will give you a great theme in your rooms.
Bring the outdoors in
With more of us loving the outdoors, it is no wonder that many of us have now started to have more plants and greenery indoors.
Houseplants are a great way to redesign a space but also help your environment too. However, if you are like me and not very good at keeping houseplants alive, there is the option of artificial plants, many of which now look a lot more realistic than they used to a few years back.
With a choice of flowers to grasses and succulents, there are plants for all rooms and you can use colourful pots to match in with the theme of that room.
Refreshing your home may sometimes feel like a lot of effort and maybe even money but now you don’t need to spend as much. These quick and easy changes will have a big impact in your room without making a big impact in your pocket! I’d love to hear your favourite ways to revamp a room without the need to spend a small fortune.
