Skincare on your lunch break – is it possible?

#Collaborative post

It can be easy to think that to achieve the best possible results with your skincare routine you need to spend hours every morning and night applying products to your skin and then spend hours having extensive treatments which require long periods of recovery. This isn’t true!

There was once a time when the go-to treatment to combat the signs of ageing was a facelift and with this came an invasive treatment and sometimes a difficult recovery. While treatments like this are still available, the popularity of alternatives which require a fraction of the time and effort has become far more popular.

We have therefore partnered with Aesthetics Lab, an award-winning cosmetic clinic based in London to highlight some of the treatments which can help you with your skin. All of the treatments highlighted in this article have been chosen for their practicality in today’s world. As working mothers, we know how busy life is every day, and finding the time to spend hours on ourselves often just isn’t possible. All the treatments below can be completed on your lunch break, and won’t stop you from going back to work or whatever else your busy day may entail. So what are some of these treatments and how can they help your skincare?

Clear + Brilliant

Clear and brilliant are words we would all like to describe our skin. This treatment uses fractional laser technology to gently penetrate your skin to begin refreshing it from the inside out. Millions of microscopic treatment zones are created under the surface of your skin which results in new healthy skin being created naturally.

The results of a Clear + Brilliant course of treatments is improved skin tone and texture along with reduced pore size and it can also help with wrinkles and fine lines. A standard course of treatments is between 4-6 sessions and can be as short as 30 minutes each, however, this will vary depending on the individual. While a treatment involving a laser may sound scary, in reality, lasers are now very common in the skincare industry and when handled by a professional are completely safe.

Osmosis Facials

This may be a treatment type that you are not familiar with, but the several Osmosis Facials that are available can be really beneficial to your skin. Osmosis Facials are specifically designed for you and your skin. This is a unique process which allows active ingredients to be delivered directly into your skin so they can start working right away. Using a liposomal delivery system allows for the ingredients in the facial to be delivered into the skin without any wounding or damage that could trigger inflammation.

Osmosis Facials can be combined with the RevitaPen Pro which uses single-use surgical-grade antibacterial stainless-steel tips. These 100 nano-sized circular-shaped pyramids create channels in your skin which help to deliver the active ingredients directly into your skin. While this may sound like an invasive process, for many they will simply feel a gentle vibration across their skin during the treatment. As with the whole Osmosis Facial treatment, this can also be tailored to you by changing the speed and depth of the RevitaPen Pro based on your skin type and sensitivity.

Aimed at improving skin tone, reducing the appearance of acne and even acne scarring, along with treating fine lines and wrinkles, the Osmosis Facial is suitable for all skin colours and types. What makes this a really unique treatment is that it can also be enjoyed by women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or even oncology patients. As busy working women we know there are so many other things going on in our lives and a treatment like this which can fit in around those is a fantastic step forward in making skincare more accessible to all.

HIFU Facelift

For the final treatment, we wanted to highlight something a little different. As mentioned initially, facelifts were a common procedure to tackle the signs of ageing and were very popular with celebrities in the early 2000s. However, there are now many excellent non-surgical alternatives, including a HIFU facelift.

This treatment uses High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to target the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS). This is the area of the face that would be tightened during a facelift by a surgeon. It is a tissue sheet of collagen, elastin fibres and fat cells which runs from the neck up to the forehead. By using HIFU to radiate energy into the SMAS layer it is tightened, lifted and plumped thanks to collagen being renewed.

There are many benefits to this treatment along with being able to experience it quickly and easily on your lunch break without the need for a lengthy recovery period. Also, results can be seen immediately and can continue to improve for up to 9 months after the treatment is completed!

Hopefully, this has highlighted that there are lots of different types of treatments available that can be enjoyed without causing massive disruption to your busy life. Just because we are busy working women shouldn’t mean we can’t enjoy treatments that can help improve our skin and make us feel great. Thanks again to Aesthetics Lab for partnering with us on this article!
