One of the most exciting parts of your wedding journey is planning your honeymoon. It’s an opportunity to create unforgettable memories with your new partner. Although there are countless honeymoon destinations to choose from, the United States boasts a diverse array of resorts, each with their own unique charm and appeal.
Whether you’d like to get under the skin of a vibrant metropolis, enjoy pure entertainment or kick back with a serene beach escape, we’ve put together a hit-list of four potential honeymoon destinations across America to suit all tastes.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Fly on over to the heart of the Nevada desert for a dose of neon nightlife on the Las Vegas Strip. Vegas offers a honeymoon experience unlike any other. From world-class dining and high-end retail outlets to A-list entertainment and nightlife, “Sin City” is described by many as “Disney World for adults”. You’ll understand this comment more if you’ve been to Disney Orlando before.
Vegas was built on the success of its casino resorts. These are dotted along Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as the Strip. They are also situated in the old-school “Downtown” area of Las Vegas, called Fremont Street. Within Vegas’ casino floors, you’ll be able to play all manner of classic casino games, including table games such as blackjack, craps and roulette.
The latter offers the lowest barrier to entry, with the game designed to be easy for all players. There’s also a choice of roulette tables, with American Roulette unsurprisingly popular with the locals. This version has also risen to popularity online, although this version does offer a bigger house edge as there’s a double zero pocket as well as a single zero pocket on the wheel!
Away from the tables, spend your time exploring iconic landmarks such as the Bellagio Fountains and the Linq High Roller observation wheel, giving you a unique perspective of the Strip. There’s shows aplenty in Vegas, with A-list musicians and Cirque du Soleil just some of the popular attractions.
New York City, New York

There’s no better city break in the United States than New York City. ‘The Big Apple’ is a truly dizzying city, with something for everyone 24/7. Whether it’s high-end shopping, relaxing in Central Park, taking in a show on Broadway or watching one of the multiple Major League sports franchises, New York isn’t just a jack of all trades honeymoon destination – it’s a master of them too.
There’s a certain romance about exploring NYC’s famous landmarks, such as Times Square and the Statute of Liberty. You can also head to the top of the Empire State Building and enjoy the cityscape from the observatories on the 86th and 102nd levels.
From a cultural perspective, there’s world-class museums, exhibitions and theatres at very turn. You can also indulge in gourmet dining experiences at Michelin-starred restaurants as well as some of New York’s heartiest eateries that go down well with the locals. Whatever you do, New York City makes for a romantic honeymoon destination in the US.
Maui, Hawaii
If you and your beau prefer the idea of maxin’ relaxin’ on a tropical paradise, look no further than the island of Hawaii. Maui offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, luxury and adventure. Nicknamed the “Valley Isle”, Maui boasts dramatic landscapes, unspoiled beaches and lush rainforests waiting to be explored.
Spend your days snorkelling in crystal-clear waters, hiking to hidden waterfalls or embarking on a scenic drive along the iconic Road to Hana. Fanatical foodies will also enjoy the first-class dining opportunities, with sumptuous seafood the order of the day. Poke is one of the most popular local cuisines, featuring raw fish and seasonings, which have become a fast-growing cuisine outside of Hawaii.
One of the most romantic pastimes in Maui can be spent at one of the many luxury spas, indulging in a couple’s massage. Alternatively, you can simply rent some beds and kick back on the beach and watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean. Bliss!
Charleston, South Carolina
With its historic charm, Southern hospitality and romantic ambience, Charleston is a true hidden gem for honeymooners seeking a more intimate experience in South Carolina. You can explore the city’s cobbled streets and historic landmarks, such as Rainbow Row, the Battery and the iconic Angel Oak tree.
If you’re both foodies, you’ll adore indulging in the hearty Lowcountry cuisine and mingling with the locals while sampling locally crafted cocktails at charming rooftop bars. You can even hope aboard for an old-school carriage ride for a unique perspective of this city’s way of life.
Whichever destination you choose, all four of these US-based honeymoon destinations are sure to offer endless opportunities for romance, adventure and memories to last a lifetime.
