It is time to talk about my favourite topic, food! As we are back with this week’s meal plan and thankfully the longest January on record is almost over!
We stuck to most of last week’s meal plan apart from 1 day, though we did swap and change some of the days around a little to suit what we fancied on those days, nothing was wasted so that is the main thing.
I am trying a few new recipes out this week, and one of them I am very much hoping comes out as planned in my head! I am a big fan of coated chicken tenders, however, when you get them delivered, they can be quite pricey. This week I am going to attempt to coat and cook my own, using the air fryer. I’ll let you know how that goes.
Other than that, it is pretty much business as usual and we drag our way to the half-term break. With both kids now in full flow of GCSE mocks or pre-mocks, it seems to be a never-ending cycle of school clubs, homework or revision! Life is just life at the moment.

Anyway, let’s get on with this week’s meal plan.
Our weekly meal plan – 27/01/25
Monday –
Chicken Katsu curry – This is a new recipe for us to try out, hopefully, it will be nice as I have never made it before even using a packet mix!
Tuesday –
Spaghetti Bolgonaise – We have a busy evening so we are using up some of the leftovers in the freezer tonight.
Wednesday –
Pizza night – Ok last week was frozen, this week though we are going for homemade dough with our pizzas! Hoping they turn out ok.
Thursday –
Hot dogs – Simple but always a winner.
Friday –
Crispy homemade chicken tenders and chips – Really looking forward to trying these out, hoping they are just half as nice as the ones you ordered in.
Saturday –
Out for dinner – We are catching up with friends so there is a night off cooking for me!
Sunday –
Roast – It seems like a while since we had a roast so this should be nice.

A bit of a mixed bag with our meals this week but I am sure most of them will be popular. What I am hoping to do is reduce the processed meals we enjoy and replace them with our own homemade version that is just a little bit better for us all. Comfort food will always be a family favourite in this household, so we are never going to stop having them, however, if we know what is going in them rather than pre-made then that is always a winner for me.
I am hoping that this provides a little inspiration to you all but don’t forget to check our previous weekly meal plan here. Alternatively, why not check out our Pinterest boards here for more inspiration or even our food blog, The Family Cookbook where we share our favourite recipes.
