Half term crafting with Baker Ross

Half term is here again and its back to the challenge of keeping the kids entertained whilst not breaking the bank.

We are very fortunate to be Baker Ross bloggers which means we get to try out some of their great products every few months! The main reason I love Baker Ross though is because a nice selection of their crafting activities make amazing things but are very simple to do and lots of the prep work is done for you so it’s a case of getting comfortable and starting to craft, which if you are un-crafty like I am they are perfect for you.

This weekend once the bugs had left the house Kayleigh and Ethan were finally well enough to do some crafting so we started on some of our fun packs starting with the scratch art decorations.

These were really simple to do. In your pack you get the decorations which are all black to begin with, ribbon to hang them up with and plastic scratch tools. Then the kids could scratch off as much or as little as they wanted to reveal the colourful panel underneath. Kayleigh and Ethan loved doing these and even though they are only little it takes just a little pressure to scratch the top layer off which meant it was perfect for little hands to do too.

Next up was the gnome suncatcher stakes, we didn’t have any glass pens but we used felt tips and these seemed to work ok. We are just waiting to pot some plants up outside so these can go outside with them.

Our last activity we’ve done so far was by far the most popular and probably the most popular of all time! We made some animal sand art bottles using the plastic animal bottles and flourescent coloured sand.

The animal bottles come with a little funnel which slots perfectly into the bottles and all you do is pour in your sand. We went for a layered effect and the flourescent sand really stands out. Kayleigh and Ethan loved making these and they have taken pride of place on their bedside units.

These are great crafts to do with the kids over the half term and they don’t break the bank either!

We are lucky to have received these items thanks to being a Baker Ross blogger however all thoughts are my own.
