Mummy vs Work: Streamline Your Life (We Use Cookies)

Our Weekly Meal Plan – 13th January 2025

How is it time for our next weekly meal plan? The year is flying by and we have been enjoying some great food in the last week.

I have found my mojo when it comes to baking and have been making fresh rolls for the last few weeks. They do not only taste amazing but there are so few ingredients in there, I feel much better about consuming them! There is so much more I want to be making fresh in the coming weeks, so I will be sure to share those.

As for last week’s meal plan, we were mostly on track apart from one day which is great. We have run our supplies down mostly which means there will be a need for a top-up shop in the near future but it is great to use up so many of the odd bits we had in the house already.

This week’s meal plan is pretty simple for us, I didn’t want to fuss too much with meals as we have a busy week, so there are lots of family favourites and easy-to-cook meals.

Our Weekly Meal Plan – 13th January 2025 2

Our weekly meal plan – 13/01/25

Monday –

Pork chops, new potatoes and veg – I have discovered the pork chops from Costco and hands down they are the best not only in the quality of the meat but also the size of the pork chops. These are served with new potatoes and veg, alongside a quick mustard sauce. I will at some point share that sauce as it is so simple but delicious.

Tuesday –

Hot dogs and chips – For this, I personally prefer the New York style hot dogs from Asda but others prefer the jar version, everyone can pick what they will prefer.

Wednesday –

Pizza night – Again a quick meal that can be made at different times as we are all in at odd times tonight due to work and school commitments.,

Thursday –

Take away – Kayleigh has her last-ever parents’ evening tonight, so we will grab something to eat and process what is said. We are in full blow revision/GCSE stage now in our house, so it is all go.

Friday –

Fajitas – I don’t think you can beat fajitas if you are in the mood for a quick meal.

Saturday –

Curry – Just a simple chicken madras with some sides. Not one that Ethan is keen on so he will have something else to eat.

Sunday –

Slow cooker sausage casserole – I love this recipe, it is one we created a while back but have had it so many times since then. The kids are not a fan of casserole dishes so they will be having toad in the hole and veg.

Our Weekly Meal Plan – 13th January 2025 3

Sometimes you need to take the stress out of meals and just go for simple meals that you know are going to be popular and easy. Is this week the best week for home-cooked meals, not really. Is it going to set the tone for the year, not at all. But I have learnt that sometimes you need to just go with the flow and cut yourself a little slack. So if you are reaching for a meal from the freezer today, don’t let anyone make you feel bad for it, balance is more important!

I am hoping that this provides a little inspiration to you all but don’t forget to check our previous weekly meal plan here. Alternatively, why not check out our Pinterest boards here for more inspiration or even our food blog, The Family Cookbook where we share our favourite recipes?
