Here we are again, back on the meal plan and ready to face another week.
I had good intentions to get started back blogging more regularly, however, life just gets so busy I just never get around to doing what I have planned. This is another week though and I plan to get back on track this week and get organised going forward.
Food for this week is a combination of a Hello Fresh delivery, which I got half-price with a code and the rest will be from things in our freezer. We just need a week of good food and easy meals whilst we are working through what looks like it will be a busy week. If you have not tried Hello Fresh before, you can get 60% off your first box using this link.
As if we don’t have enough on our plates, I plan to work on a few recipes for the food blog this week. It is going to be pretty much sweet food as we love baking, but I am going to try and get a combination of both sweet and savoury on there, alongside side some great cooking tips and suggestions such as our CRIMPiT fillings post. If you are considering getting a CRIMPiT, keep an eye on the food blog this week as I have 2 to give away!
I am hopeful that it will also help inspire our food for daily meals too as I am struggling to come up with some new suggestions for meals each week. For now, though, let’s get back to our meal plan for this week.
Our weekly meal plan – 01/05/23
Monday –
Cheesy Korean-inspired beef-loaded wedges – This is one of our Hello Fresh meals, I am hoping although it is different to what we usually have, it will appeal to everyone.
Tuesday –
Creamy Rigatoni – Again, this is a dish from our Hello Fresh and out of all the ones we brought, I suspect this is the one that will be the most challenging for the kids! After all, it has green vegetables in it!
Wednesday –
Aromatic beef pilaf – This is the last of our Hello Fresh and one that I am hoping is nice as it is a quick meal and one that could be cooked weekly if it is nice enough.
Thursday –
Tuna pasta bake – After a week of trying out new meals, I think we will have a dish that I know they will enjoy.
Friday –
Chicken curry, rice and naan bread – Simple but tasty end to the week.
Saturday –
Roast – Not sure what we will have this week, it will be dependant on what I can get with the shopping this week.
Sunday –
BBQ – The weather is looking good for the weekend, let’s hope it stays sunny and we can have another BBQ as we had one last week, which we all loved.
It is a combination of things this week, purely because we had the Hello Fresh box. I only tend to get these boxes like these when they are on offer, otherwise it feels like the costs can be quite high. This week’s box was 4 meals, for 4 people and it was £21 including delivery. Which to me was a great deal, based on the cost of food these days, that was actually cheaper than a takeaway for the 4 of us! If any of the meals are a success, it means we can add them to our weekly meal rotation.
