It is that time of the week again as we start planning for the week with our meal plan and I don’t know about you but these weeks feel like they are flying by at the minute.
I had plans to get organised and get things sorted before we return to work next week but time has started to run away from me and now it feels like we are going to be rushing around for the last week and a bit getting things organised!
Last week we ate too much food, don’t get me wrong, it was delicious but it most certainly was not Slimming World friendly and this week I need to get myself back on track to make sure I am sticking to it. I am struggling with what to have for lunch at the minute as I just want things that are quick and simple but sometimes I just can not be bothered to make anything either so before we return to work I need to start looking at plans for what I could have on a day to day, to ensure I stick to plan.
The kids have requested that we have tuna pasta bake once a week and whilst it is a cheap dinner option, I am inclined to agree for the time being, plus it is super quick and tasty. I don’t use any special recipe, just Coleman’s packet mix and it goes down a storm every time. Plus I think it is less than £3 a meal for all of us, plus any salad or vegetables they may want with it at the time.
Anyway, let’s get back to this week’s
Our weekly meal plan – 22/08/22
Monday –
Burgers and chips – Super easy but tasty, doing this allows everyone to pick what sort of toppings they would like on their burgers too.
Tuesday –
Keema curry – I can’t remember the last time I made one of these so looking forward to making one today.
Wednesday –
Pancakes – I never did make them last week so I will do so this week to keep them all happy!
Thursday –
Cod, new potatoes and vegetables – So simple but delicious, it doesn’t take long to oven cook the fish and everything else can be cooked on the hob.
Friday –
Chicken curry – I’m not sure what type of curry but we shall see what we fancy nearer the time. If I am feeling in the mood to cook I may also make some fresh naan bread too which are so simple to do.
Saturday –
BBQ – The weather is promising to behave at the minute so I am very much looking forward to getting back up on the decking and enjoying a nice BBQ and chilling out. I am going to try and get inspired for some new recipes for this rather than the usual sausages and burgers!
Sunday –
Tuna pasta bake – It is one for the kids to enjoy as I promised!
This week is not really groundbreaking on new dishes, it is all about a week using up what we have and meals that the whole family are going to enjoy. Sometimes you just need to stick to those winners for an easier time when it comes to meals and I am not going to lie, this week is one of those weeks.
