Our weekly meal plan – 28/12/20

Good morning and welcome back to our last meal plan of 2020!

It is hard to imagine after the year we have had that this is the last week of the year, it has gone so quick yet slow at the same time. Also, it has not been the planned year at all, but we have made the best of the situation.

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas period, even if it was not how you would have originally planned it. We have been so lazy, our routine has gone out of the window, as has any healthy diet. The only fruit I have had is the kind of cheese or chocolate!

Now I could say we are going to be better this week but that would be a lie, the simple truth is we are making the most of all being able to bunker down and enjoy each others company with no work or school for a few weeks. This has been the first time we have all been off without being on call or email monitoring since February half term and I intend to make the most of it. I am paying the price of our current diet though, I’m not worried about the pounds we are gaining but my IBS is having a bit of a flare-up. In a few days, I will be back to being good!

Now back to the meal plan for this week, here is what we are cooking:

Our meal plan – 28/12/20

Monday –

English breakfast – You can’t beat a fry up! Looking forward to this.

Tuesday –

Spaghetti bolognaise – Using up some of the prepared meals in our freezer.

Wednesday –

Frozen pizza – These are in the freezer to be used up, simple but delicious.

Thursday –

Takeaway – Moving it from Friday to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

Friday –

Roast – Starting off the New Year right!

Saturday –

Chilli con Carne – Easy dinner and one we can cook quickly.

Sunday –

Toad in the hole – I can’t remember the last time I made this!

Super simple week of meals and one that we will all enjoy before we start to eat a little better and get the shock to our system as we head back to school and work. That 5:30 am alarm is going to be a real shock to the system! I have been considering trying out a food box subscription to make our lives a little easier and give us some inspiration. I’ve always been unsure as to their value for money however this Gousto review looks great, plus there is a discount code for 30% off your first box and boxes that month!

If you are after some more inspiration you can check our previous weekly meal plan here. Alternatively, why not check out our Pinterest boards here for more inspiration. If you have a family favourite, even the fussiest of eaters will eat, please share it in the comments below for a little inspiration!
