Dear Kayleigh and Ethan,
The house is quiet, we’ve been awake for hours but your comfortable watching TV and I’m snuggled on the sofa feeling sorry for myself as I’m still poorly!
The past 8 months have not been easy for anyone in to house but were getting there. It’s not going to be an easy road in the future either but as a family we will come out the other side.
You are both growing into these amazing little people, full of wonder and intelligence with a bundle of energy and cheekiness thrown in for good measure.
The age gap is perfect as you are each others best friend and comfort, you hate being apart and spend 80% of the day together. Ethan is Kayleigh’s little sheep, he idolises you Kayleigh. Looking up to everything you do and wanting to be just like you.
It won’t last, you may always be close but with Kayleigh starting school in September you will form separate friends but you will always have each other.
Just like you will always have mummy and daddy.
We are both incredibly proud of you both. It has been over 5 years since we started our journey to become parents and nothing I would change (apart from an odd lie in!)
So much is going to change over the next few years so I want to tell you something so you don’t forget:
- You will always have each other and us, we’re family and nothing will change that.
- Don’t ever let someone put you down, if you want something and truly believe that you can do it then grab it with both hands and don’t let anyone stop you.
- Remember we are here to help, don’t be afraid to ask.
- We will always be proud of you, no matter what.
Now back to the manic of a weekend whilst battling a bug doing the rounds but do you know what, I wouldn’t change a thing.
I’m incredible proud to be your mummy and my heart swells every time your talent and charm shines out or just anytime I look at you!
Lots of love, cuddles and kisses
