Summer days are made for picnics

The sun is out and there is a warm breeze around. This means only one thing in our household, packing up a picnic and heading to the local park or to Ashridge Estate for a walk around the woods and getting some fresh air.

Being stuck indoors 5 days a week due to work there is nothing better than getting out with the kids at the weekend and just being technology free and spending time together as a family, running around and just being free really.

I hadn’t realised how many times though that we go for picnics. It is such a simple idea but one that doesn’t really require any planning and there have been times when Daddy Vs Work has had to go football training on a weekday that I’ve been known to pack up a picnic for the kids and tag along, even on a school night! The only things you need for a picnic is some yummy food, a little drink and something to keep them all cool.

The ice packs from Thermafreeze Europe are perfect for this, there is no need to keep big ice blocks in storage anymore, simply hydrate these packs the night before, pop them in the freezer and away you go. So simple but perfect for what you’ll need.

There is something about having a picnic, it breaks all the rules such as eating on the floor and using your hands and when it gets teamed with a trip to the woods or park it becomes a big adventure.

Kayleigh and Ethan are creating so many memories too. Ones that I remember growing up, running around outside, getting muddy, climbing trees.

We’ve also seen some pretty amazing views too, ones you might not normally see as you drive pass places like Ashridge.

So this summer why not pack up a picnic and head on a little adventure, breaking away from the screens and technology and enjoying the great outdoors.
