Where do you get your inspiration for your home?

Where do you get your inspiration for your home?

#Ad – This is a collaborative post

Our home is currently a building site still, in fact, we have been living out of boxes for so long now, when we get our home back to normal it will seem huge!

However, it has been a while since we last decorated our home so we are now searching out for inspiration from around the internet and other places.

Pinterest has been a huge inspiration for design features, with some designs we could only dream of. For example to modern streamlined designs from restaurant designers London look amazing however, just would not work in the space we have here.

Home inspirations and ideas

As we are working with smaller spaces now, we are going to try and keep things as light and bright as possible. For the kid’s rooms, we have asked them to pick a theme or a wallpaper. Then from that, we will be working out throughout the room in keeping with the design.

For Kayleigh she has currently selected a wallpaper that contains rose gold, this then means we are able to accessories the room to match but keeping it light with just a feature wall then the rest linking in light and airy.

Ethan has decided he is going for this street art graffiti design, using greys and pops of colour in the room to bring it all together.

The room I am really struggling with though is our room.  Firstly we have moved into a smaller room, so we are going to have to be a bit creative with the storage solutions in there but this also impacts on the lightness of the room.

We haven’t decorated our main room since Kayleigh was a baby and a lot has changed since then. Do we go for a bold feature wall and keep the rest fairly neutral, or do we just keep it quiet muted as it is a safe haven of relaxation after a busy day?

There is still time to be deciding and I will keep looking online for inspiration and ideas before we have to make that decision.
