Wise Words Wednesday with Emma Drew

Over the years of blogging I have come across some amazing bloggers and found so much inspiration from them. I wanted to be able to share these blogs with my readers, so welcome to Wise Words Wednesday! The place where you can meet some of these amazing bloggers!

First up is the rather awesome Emma Drew who has inspired me in so many ways to start not only earning extra money away from my day job, but push on to make such a difference to our family life as we know it!

Tell us a little bit about you & your blog:

My name is Emma Drew and I blog at the appropriately named EmmaDrew.Info. I blog about ways to make money, save money and live the life you want. I try out loads of ways to make extra money and I come back and tell my readers if they’re any good or not. I’ve covered everything from selling your smelly shoes on eBay to making money in an hour or less.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I wanted to blog my own journey about trying to make money online without falling victim to scams.  It held me accountable and encouraged me to keep earning extra.

What has been your highlight of blogging?

Blogging started as a hobby and now I am lucky enough that it is my full time job. I’ve met some amazing people, and been to some great events, but my highlight is definitely the fact that I now work for myself and employ my husband. We spend our time running a few blogs and it keeps us busy.

Is there anything you have learnt about blogging which you wish you knew when you started out?

I had no idea that you could make money from blogging, and if I had known then I probably would have started to monetise my blog a lot earlier.

Bloggers sometimes get a lot of stick however many work really hard and are reaping the rewards, what has been the most rewarding part of blogging for you?

It sounds crazy, but changing people’s lives. I’ve created a completely free 6 week money making course for my readers, and it has helped some of them to pay for holidays or to quit their day jobs entirely.

What would be your 1 tip you would give all new bloggers starting out?

Progress, not perfection! Keep aiming to make progress with your blog by creating content and growing your followers and visitors. The hard work does pay off, but you don’t need to be the Best Blogger Ever overnight.

Who do you find inspiring to read/watch in the blogging world?

I love reading online income reports from other bloggers. It has opened my eyes to how bloggers get paid, as well as the earning potential out there.

Lastly – do you have any big plans/dreams for your blog in the next 12 months?

This is really bad, but I still haven’t set any blogging goals for the year. I feel as though last year was just a whirlwind, and I’m almost scared to set anything in stone for this year! I hope to keep creating new content and free courses, whilst growing my audience, but beyond that is tough!

Thank you to Emma for being up first and willing to answer my questions!
