Coffee Walnut Cake recipe

Coffee is one of Daddy Vs Work’s favourite drinks.

Our house is full of different flavoured Nespresso pods of Gourmesso for our coffee machine and it is on daily. What I love about the coffee machine is the fact we don’t need to keep jars of different coffee everywhere! The pods are neatly put away and then we can offer out a wide range when our guest our here, a bit like our own coffee shop.

However, did you know coffee is also a great addition to cakes?

With the help of Kayleigh, we set about making Daddy Vs Work a coffee and walnut cake as a little treat.

I will admit there was a bit of a disaster with the butter icing however I will make another one this weekend and upload a better picture. This recipe from the BBC food website is super easy to follow.

Other than our little disaster I was told the cake was delicious, in fact, the best cake they’ve ever eaten!

We are going to give this cake another try at the weekend and it is perfect to get out in the garden with a lovely cup of coffee and the sunshine.

Make sure you watch the blog in the coming week as we are bringing you the chance to win some of these coffee pods too.

Coffee and walnut cake is my favourite and i have tried diffrent recipes- I must try this one as I like the fact it uses espresso coffee -I have always used ordinary coffee before

Love coffee cake but use pecans instead as I’m not a fan of walnuts. Shall have to make one of these for when we go on our next picnic

I love coffee cake but, rather than use fresh coffee, I use coffee essence/extract, which is easily available in large supermarkets or places like Lakeland. I find that this way I only need to add a few drops.

I do love a good coffee and walnut cake. It’s the only thing my wife’s best friend makes that’s better than my wife does it, though I won’t say that out loud of course…. 😉
