Tomorrow sees the end of the school year and the end of a chapter in our household.
It is the day our first-born moves to junior school and our baby becomes the oldest year in their infant school. When did this all happen? They are growing up all of a sudden and are now becoming independent.
The last few weeks have been really busy but they have included the kids getting their school reports and test results and Kayleigh taking part in a year 2 leavers assembly.
I don’t write certain things that the kids have got up to on the blog, not because I don’t want to share then but I don’t want to come across as a blogger that has everything and everything is rosy, I can assure you at times our two are little devils and life can throw us some challenges.
However this year they have made us so proud, I can’t help but shout about it.
Their school reports were outstanding in all areas and they absolutely smashed their tests.
Ethan passed his phonics test 40/40.
Kayleigh’s SAT results were;
Reading – 31/40
Spelling, grammar & punctuation – 32/40
Maths – 53/60
Like I said, they smashed them and we are so proud of them both. We discussed the tests, told them to try hard and not to worry about the results (so much so they haven’t even asked how they did) and we would be proud no matter how they did.
We was.
I can’t explain it but as individuals, Daddy Vs Work and I are competitive and try to be the best we can be in whatever we are doing but when it comes to our children watching them learn and excel at things give’s us a sense of achievement that no matter what we achieve it will never really matter in comparison.
Each time they learn something new be it something in school or a simple thing such as tying their shoe laces, I feel my heart pulse with this pride that makes it feel like my heart is going to burst out of my chest. My eyes fill up with tears when I hear how they’ve done at school or they get up in their school productions.
No matter how old they are, they will always be my little babies and as long as they keep trying their hardest and make the most of the adventure life brings I will always be the proud mummy at the back cheering them on with tears in my eyes.
Well done to both of them. You must be overjoyed 🙂
