Good morning! Today we have the lovely Sam from Travels With My Boys taking to the hot seat to share her journey of blogging with us.
If you are looking for tips on travelling with children or inspiration on where to go, make sure you pop over and take a look at her site. It is full of helpful advice 🙂
Now time to let Sam take over the blog:
Tell us a little bit about you & your blog:
I’m Sam, a full time working mummy to two boys. Myself and my husband work for my parents business which can have its own pros and cons. I started the blog just after my youngest was born for something to do in my spare time. The blog focuses on family travel, days out and gluten/milk free travel.
What inspired you to start blogging?
I started reading blogs while I was pregnant and thought it was a great way to help other families. I decided to take the plunge and start one of my own.
What has been your highlight of blogging?
Talking to other bloggers and making friends.Â
Is there anything you have learnt about blogging which you wish you knew when you started out?
Just how much work goes into it. I don’t get much spare time with working full time, so my evenings are spent working on posts, social media, promotion…the list goes on.
Bloggers sometimes get a lot of stick however many work really hard and are reaping the rewards, what has been the most rewarding part of blogging for you?
I don’t think im quite there with my blog. I was pretty impressed I got into the top 50 blogs on Trips100. However, I dropped quite a bit as it was just too much work to try keep up and I slowed down with my updating.
What would be your 1 tip you would give all new bloggers starting out?
Automate what you can, just to save you time. I use social oomph for twitter and I just add my posts to it when I need to and let it do the rest of the work. Also share other bloggers work J
Who do you find inspiring to read/watch in the blogging world?
I love Katie from Mummy Daddy Me. Her videos and photos are amazing.
Lastly – do you have any big plans/dreams for your blog in the next 12 months?
I would love to make it big with my blog, but I think i’ll just try get as many posts out there as I can and try help at least 1 family with something I’ve wrote.
As well as her blog you can keep up to date with Sam on Twitter and Instagram.
