So it begins…. building work has commenced!

After lots of hours discussing and planning, we have now got cracking on the actual work. We are very lucky to have a place to call home and although we can’t afford to move at the minute we are able to do some work in our home to make it work better for us.

We are working with a really tight budget for this work and will be looking to make it stretch as far as it possibly can.

So it begins.... building work has commenced!

Now I am brutally honest on my blog, it is our space. In an ideal world, we would have moved or maybe had an extension however financially both of those options were not viable for us currently, so we have come up with another option. We are lucky we live in a bungalow so we are able to move some walls internally. It does mean that the kids will have 2 small singles and we will have a small double, however, everyone will have their own space.

Work started on Saturday and has been moving at an incredible pace! Both Daddy Vs Work and his dad have been cracking through the work with all the new internal walls up, there is still lots to be finished on them but the stud work and some of the plasterboard has gone up.

So it begins.... building work has commenced! So it begins.... building work has commenced!

There is still a long list of things to complete this week though:

  • Moving the loft hatch
  • Fitting new door linings
  • Fitting new doors
  • Installing a skylight
  • Installing new sockets and lights throughout
  • Fitting skirting

These are just some of the jobs I can remember but I am sure there is still so much more to do. We will just keep ploughing through until the cash runs dry then carry on again when we get a bit more money.

Kayleigh and Ethan are beyond excited, they are both going to have loft beds to make the most of the space they have and give them as much storage as we possibly can. We are currently looking at these beds as they seem to have the best storage options for us.

I will post an update later in the week on how we have been getting on, for now, though we are sleeping on the floor and living out of boxes!
