*Review* MYGEL Magic Gel Remover

A while ago I wrote this post on gel nails at home with the Mylee complete professional gel nail kit and in it, I mentioned the MYGEL Magic Gel Remover from Mylee. I was due to follow that up with a review however life got in the way and I never got round to it, however, here it is! Better late than never right?

Now I love doing my nails and having pretty gel nails, however, the whole removal process of foils etc just completely put me off. I never got them to slide off as you see in the videos and it would just drive me insane. It was the whole process of taking them off that stopped me from doing my nails again. With time short, I never really got the chance to head out and get my nails done either so I just did nothing.

Then I saw Mylee had released a gel remover, it all sounded a little too good to be true really.

According to the instructions. you simply file the top layer of gel polish off, paint a thick layer of the MYGEL Magic Gel Remover on, leave it for 5 minutes then scrape them off. Surely, it can’t be that simple?

Well, I have to say I am very impressed Mylee as it really is that simple. There haven’t really been any issues in getting my gel nails off since I started using this. I have found that since I discovered this, my nails have been so much easier to do and I am happy to take my own nails off and re-do them.

Now there have been a few things I have learned since I started using this to make sure you get the best out of the product.

Top tips on using MYGEL Magic Gel Remover by Mylee

  • Make sure you take the shine off – It is really important to ensure you get the shine off your existing nails to allow this to work. Taking time to do this can save you so much time in the long run and it should come off with 1 application.
  • Be careful in applying the gel – You want to ensure it is only on your nails, it is pretty strong and although I have had no reaction when it has touched skin, I have cleaned it off straight away,
  • Put an even layer on – Ensure your layer of gel is even, it will allow it to work evenly across the nails.
  • Your nails may feel a little strange – Whilst it is working you may find your nails feel strange, almost like a tightening feeling. Don’t panic too much, it is just whilst it is working. Once you have scraped it off and washed your hands your nails will feel like normal.

This has to be the best find when it comes to gel nails, I am still pretty much a novice when it comes to gel nails however I love the fact that I can do my nails in my own time at home when I want a little pick me up. It is not too expensive either, at £9.99 a bottle. You will get a fair few applications for this, I am still on my first bottle.

As I said, I am no nail expert but for someone that just wants to have pretty nails at home without spending a fortune or lots of time, this MYGEL Magic Gel Remover is the perfect find for me.

If you are considering doing your own nails but are after some inspiration, I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to the best nail art designs I can find. Now, I’m not talented enough to recreate any of these, however, there are some beautiful designs in there.
