Good morning and welcome back to another meal plan.
The weeks are flying by and merging into 1 pretty much! It feels as though the Summer holidays are a distant memory and our new routine has always been in place. We are getting on great with the new George Foreman grill, it makes meal times so much quicker and easier in the evenings and has been one of those great purchases. As the cooler weather is on the horizon, I am going to be trying out a few more slow cooker recipes ready for the Winter months.
I just want to be able to get it all set up before we go to work and then when we get back there is a lovely smell of warm comfort food waiting for us as we come through the door. If you have any easy family favourites from the slow cooker, I would love to read them, so just pop them in the comments below.
For now, though, let’s get back to this weeks meal plan.
Our weekly meal plan – 13/09/21
Monday –
Slow cooker Spanish chicken – This is a new dish for us but it looks and sounds delicious. Popping it on before we leave for work and it will be ready when we get home.
Tuesday –
Full English – I have not cooked a fry up in a while, nor have we used the grill to do so. We will give it a go and let you know how it cooks.
Wednesday –
Chicken burgers & chips – The kids prefer chicken burgers so this will go down well with them.
Thursday –
Spaghetti bolognese – We have some in the freezer ready to go, this makes it a quick and easy dinner for us.
Friday –
Beef curry in the slow cooker – I am not sure what sort of curry we will go for yet, but it will be in there and cooking whilst we are at work.
Saturday –
Chicken chow mein – It has been a while but I look forward to making this again.
Sunday –
Roast or stew – I will see what is on offer whilst I do our shopping and go from there.
There is only 1 new meal on the menu this week but I am hoping it is a success. I think over the next few weeks I need to look for a few recipes that are not stews, curries or casseroles. There are lots of dishes out there and I know some things work better than others in the slow cooker. Hopefully, I can find a few dishes that are maybe using things like sausages or joints of meat that can make multiple meals. If you haven’t worked out by now, I like meals that can be bulk cooked to give me some time off cooking later in the week!
One thing I do need to look at though is our lunch inspiration. I am tired of salads or soup for work but am trying to be a bit healthier with my choices. If you have any suggestions for meals to take to work that don’t require any effort once at work, that would be great. During the day I am limited on hours and tend to work through my lunch break most days. So things I can eat on the go are always a winner for me.
If you are after some more inspiration you can check our previous weekly meal plan here. Alternatively, why not check out our Pinterest boards here for more inspiration. If you have a family favourite, even the fussiest of eaters will eat, please share it in the comments below for a little inspiration for those reading this!
