Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to another weekly meal plan.
I can’t believe that it is the 1st December on Wednesday, it has flown by the last 11 months. It has been pretty up and down all year but I am really looking forward to a couple of weeks off with the family and just chilling out with some good food and no alarms!
Last week’s meal plan went pop as I had 3 days of 12 hour days, by the time I got home I just could not be bothered to cook. However, I am back on it and yesterday made a delicious beef pie with rice pudding, it was real comfort food that matched the weather. It has been a while since I just spent time in the kitchen making some delicious comfort food, I just don’t always have the time to do so. I plan on getting back in the kitchen this weekend and baking some cakes as it has been a while since I did some baking.
This week though we are back on easy dinners, whilst using up some of the food we have in our house already. It is also time to be putting our tree up so I plan a cheeky midweek takeaway whilst we enjoy that as it is a little tradition to have some takeaway and Christmas music whilst making the home festive.
So, let’s see what we have planned in our meal plan this week.
Our weekly meal plan – 22/11/21
Monday –
Beef pie and new potatoes – This is the leftover from the pie I made yesterday, served with some simple new potatoes and veggies.
Tuesday –
Burgers and chips – Nice and simple. It is also one that the kids will eat with no objections.
Wednesday –
Takeaway – Our tradition is always to put up the decorations with a takeaway and festive music. I can’t wait to get in the festive mood with the kids.
Thursday –
Cod in parsley sauce, rice and peas – It has been a while since we had cod in parsley sauce so I look forward to eating this one.
Friday –
Spaghetti bolognese – Easy dinner for us as this is already cooked and in the freezer, just needs to be cooked and some fresh spaghetti cooked.
Saturday –
Spanish chicken – I have never made this but look forward to giving it a go.
Sunday –
Pork chops, mash and beans – These pork chops are from Costco and are delicious. I can not wait to cook these again.
This week is all about the simple dishes, that require minimal effort from me. The plan is to make it easy in the evenings so I can get on with blog work around it ready for winding down over the Christmas period. I had big plans to be not blogging over Christmas but I haven’t really worked on getting myself organised for that, I need to get cracking.
I would like to use our slow cooker a lot more in the colder months too, do you have any family favourite recipes for the slow cooker you can share? I always seem to end up sticking to the classics such as stews and curries and would really like to try something a little different. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to leave them in the comment box below!
