Mummy vs Work: Streamline Your Life (We Use Cookies)

Our weekly meal plan – 13th June 2022

Hello and welcome back to another weekly meal plan.

We managed to pretty much stick to last week’s meal plan which was great and I am trying to work my way through the bits and pieces we have in the freezer as over time I have popped things in there when we have changed our meal plan last minute.

This week’s meal plan is new for us as we are working our way through our JD Seasoning box which I purchased a couple of weeks ago. So far I have liked the dishes we have tried and they have all been tasty, so I have high hopes for this week’s meals. If you have never heard of them before, they are a spice mix delivery service in which you add fresh ingredients to make your dish. They are perfect if you are on Slimming World as they are all syn-free.

Ethan’s birthday is also this week, so that is the perfect excuse for a takeaway and cake. I am not sure what he is planning to have, but I intend to get weighed in and enjoy whatever menu he has planned!

Anyway, let’s get back to this week’s meal plan and see what we have cooking.

Our weekly meal plan – 13/06/22

Monday –

Sausage casserole – I know it is now warmer but I am looking forward to trying this one out. When I get in on a Monday after work I just can not be bothered to think about cooking and this is a quick dish to prepare and let cook.

Tuesday –

Homemade burgers and chips – Hopefully this will taste as good as it sounds. The plan is to get the kids in the kitchen helping to make these, which in turn may encourage them to eat a little more!

Wednesday –

Takeaway – It is Ethan’s birthday, so the tradition stands for takeaway. It is his choice to pick what he wants for dinner.

Thursday –

Chicken chow mein – Stir fry is one of my favourite things to eat, yet I hardly cook it. We are going to give this mix a try and see how it turns out.

Friday –

Jacket potatoes – It is due to be a scorcher today, so we are sticking with something simple and tasty

Saturday –

Spaghetti bolognese – I love this dish, simply because I can bulk it out with plenty of vegetables to make a dish.

Sunday –

Roast dinner – This is always a winner with the kids so I plan to make a roast with all the trimmings.

Although some of these dishes are new on the menu from the spice mixes, they are dishes we have previously made in one form or another so I am hoping that they are all well received.

Next week is going to be a warm week, so I am going to start looking at dishes that we can make nice and quickly so we don’t spend too much time in a hot kitchen. I always find that the summer is weird for food as I can’t be bothered to cook but at the same time complain to everyone for not eating a proper meal. This summer I want to try and get into better habits for everyone with meals and give us a few more ideas for healthy dinners to eat.
