Scaretastic Halloween Decorations & Party Ideas

Halloween is a great time to throw a party. Everyone is in the party spirit and ready to really celebrate All Hallows Eve, if you are thinking of hosting a ghostly gathering, there are some really good ideas out there to help you along. Here is a list of hints and tips that will help you on your way to a big bloodcurdling bash, on a small budget.

Invitations – Every good party starts with a quality invitation and this goes for adult and children’s parties alike. If it is for a children’s party, you might want to get the kinds involved with the invitation making process. A visit to the arts and craft shop will be cheaper and all together more creative than buying pre-made invites. The witch’s hat is the easiest one to make for those of you, who aren’t particularly crafty, all you need is some black card and some scissors, decorate with a white or silver pen.

Happy Halloween!!

Decorations – It’s really easy to make your home into a ghoulish guest house for the evening and the decorations are just the start! A bat mobile (not the one batman drives!) could be one of the most cost effective yet visually stunning decorations to go for and they’re so simple to make! Keep some of that black card you had from the invitations and start carving out bat silhouettes. Next you need to go for a little foraging. Collect some sizable branches (ones that have fallen off trees already!) and take them home to be painted black. Then just string your tiny bats from the finger-like twigs and hang around the home, perfect for a spooky soirée!

Costume – The perfect Halloween host should always be the best dressed at the party. But when there are so many other things to sort out, fancy dress costumes could come in at the bottom of the list. This is especially the case when you have little monsters to dress! If you are making everything else by hand you might need a break, if that’s the case, there’s no shame in cheating a little and getting professionally madeHalloween costumes from somewhere like Fancy Dress Ball. At least this way you know the costume is sorted and will be delivered to your door meaning you can get on with more important things.

Activities – Bobbing for apples and candy apple stations are some of the more traditional Halloween party activities but if you want your party to be remembered you need to think a little out of the box. Zombie tag and blind man’s bluff are great for a kid’s party but for an adult’s party, try more challenging activities like, guess the weight of the pumpkin where bets can be made, Halloween film quiz where you set up questions to do with horror movies and murder mysteries!
