Fear; an unpleasant emotion or thought that you have when you are frightened or worried by something dangerous, painful, or bad that is happening or might happen.
It holds you back.
It makes you doubt yourself, your decision, your sanity.
Sometimes though you have to face it square on.
Look past your fears, look into the distance and see what is within your reach.
After being struck with fear caused by anxiety following our car accident, it can be a dark lonely place.
I was in a place so dark that a trip to the supermarket would be so difficult I used to have to talk myself into going. Little voices telling you not to do it, all the things that could go wrong.
Like anxiety fear holds you back. Self doubt creeps in, your brain goes into over drive on thinking rationally. It’s like you feel at the centre of a storm scared on what move to make next in case it is the wrong one.
It is time to step out of the fear, spread your wings a little and embrace your own self belief. Everyday I tell our children that they can achieve anything they put their mind to, so why don’t I listen to my own advise.
Push yourself a little, do something each day that scares you.
I’ve taken some decisions that petrify me if I’m honest, not sure if I’ve gone completely mad. I like a challenge though, I refuse to believe the words, I can’t do this. There is nothing you can’t do if you put your mind to it.
In 3 weeks time I will be leaving my job and heading into full time self employment. It will work, it has to work as I don’t believe in quitting.
Life is a big battle of mind over matter, you just need to decide which one you are going to let win.
Believe in yourself, challenge yourself, smash it.
After all the only thing that will hold you back in life is yourself.
