The weather is taking a turn for the worse and many of us may be spending longer in the car getting to and from our destination depending on that.
However, are you ensuring your car is in the best condition it should be and making sure it will be able to get you where you need to go?
Let’s face it, many of us don’t really keep on top of our car as some of us find the everyday running costs a little expensive however could you afford to pay for a big repair bill should something go wrong?
There are lots of things you can do to ensure you keep your car in the best condition as possible.
- Regularly check your tyres – These are ones you need to keep on top off as driving them when they are not correctly filled can not only be a costly mistake but also a dangerous one. All garages have air pumps so why not check your pressure next time you are topping up with fuel?
- Have an annual service – To some this may be a costly expense, but a yearly service is a great way to ensure your car is in a good condition. Running your car on low oil, for example, can seriously damage to your engine. Having an expert check over your car once a year allows you to also address issues when they are spotted rather than leaving them for a long period.
- Make sure you get an MOT! – I know this is a legal requirement, but you hear so often of people not getting it done. It is there for a reason and all being well should be done quite quickly. Book your MOT in Northampton with Calmac Tyres Autocentre.
- Do your own daily checks – If you are heading out for the day or on a long journey before you head off just quickly check your wiper blades are in good conditions, you have water in your screen washer container. Just little things to make sure your journey is the best it can be.
Although you can not predict what will happen, these tips are just a few to ensure you are keeping your car in the best condition it can be. For your own peace of mind, I would recommend getting some car breakdown cover (that suits your needs) just in case the worse should happen.
