I’ve finally got round to moving my pictures over from my hard drive on to my laptop from my hard drive.
Its been a while since I had a chance to look back at my pictures and today I did that with Kayleigh and Ethan. It was strange though as a big chunk of them are as they are both babies.
I felt like I was transported back to my pregnancy and new mum stage for a little while.
Pregnancy is one of natures miracles and I’m very grateful I had 2 healthy pregnancies with Kayleigh and Ethan which resulted in 2 healthy babies.
Now I’m done it is great to be able to pass back some of the things I learnt with others who are going through it. It seems that I always know someone who is pregnant!
One thing I’m grateful is for the fact I never suffered from heartburn! The number of people I knew who were living with Gaviscon by their bedside whilst I was pregnant was amazing, yet I was lucky and escaped throughout. Heartburn during pregnancy is pretty common and is one of those things that people learn to live with.
Just make sure you know the symptoms of heartburn, the last thing you want to do during your pregnancy is panic over a pain if its something pretty simple.
The one thing I didn’t escape with though was stretch marks, no matter what I tried! With Kayleigh, I had a few, with Ethan I had loads! From the pictures above, the one on the left was about a week before I had Kayleigh 3 days late at 7lb 2 oz and the one on the left was the day I went in to have Ethan by cesarean 3 days early at 8lb 14oz.
I think simply down to the way he was sitting and the fact he had run out of space was why I suffered so badly 2nd time round but do you know what, they don’t really bother me that much anymore.
Yes, I am aware of them but at the end of the day, my body managed to carry 2 healthy children and for that, I will carry the marks every day, one thing I can do as thanks!
If you are trying to get pregnant or are pregnant with your first, take it all in your stride. Lots of people will have advice or try to tell you how to do things but trust your body and your instinct. You know your body more than anyone else.
