So we’re well in the swing of party planning for Kayleigh’s 4th Birthday.
I’ve managed to book the hall, bouncy castle, face painter. Also I’ve brought the bits for the party bags and ordered the cake toppers.
So really all I’ve got to do is pay for most things and the food.
I’m in need of inspiration on the food, do I just go for the normal party food or do I try to be inventive? Have you held a party lately or are you the queen of party foods that can give me some cheap but exciting ideas? I am looking to be feeding 3-4 year olds plus some parents that stay so it needs to be practical, cheap but cheerful.
I had thought of doing ice cream cupcakes that I had come across but now I’m panicking thinking maybe I should stick to the well-known and well-loved basics?
Also do I decorate the tables or just get some plain table covers? We’ve gone with cheap party plates but fancy napkins to give a bit of colour.
Come on then, I know some of you are really inventive and great on budget ideas, come and inspire me! 🙂
I don’t think you can beat normal party food like sandwiches, cheese & pineapple, pizza, and cakes lol! Kids love them! The ice cream cupcakes sound fab! I know a few people that have made these, kids love them apparently! I might give them a go myself for my boys 5th birthday next week 🙂 I think as parents we stress so much over our babies, and we want them to have the perfect day, by the sounds of it, you have it all sorted! I’m sure she’ll have a super day! x
Finger foods, nothing too complicated, keep the sweet stuff back while they fill on sandwiches and savoury snacks, have colourful trays of chopped fruit and veg. Ice cream and jelly is messy, cupcakes and biscuits easier t o clear. Bouncy castles aren’t supposed to have food on them so keep it the other end of the room. Table decorations are cheap, cheerful and make a difference, try pound land or asda. Also find out if anyone’s Child has allergies, it’s heartbreaking realising you haven’t got anything one child can eat.
