Our weekly meal plan – 13/07/20

Good morning and welcome back to this week’s meal plan. For the first time in a while, I have actually been organised enough to meal plan before the start of the week.

I’m sorry I have been a bit AWOL, the end of term has been a bit manic and I have got to the point where I just can not be bothered to work any more in the evening. I am however on the final push and by the end of the week, I will be off for the summer holidays!

Last week’s meal plan went a little off-plan. My chicken pie was delicious, however, with 2 fussy children, we had leftovers for the next day. There were a few other days moved around too, most of which I think is my own fault for not meal planning properly.

With just this week to get through at work, I am hoping to get back in the kitchen and get the kids cooking with me. This summer I have told the kids they are cooking dinner 1 day a week, now I’m not going to put my feet up and leave them to it (though it would be nice!), however, I want them to decide what is for dinner and cook it from scratch themselves. I’m hoping it will not only teach them a few more skills in the kitchen but also teach them to appreciate the effort that goes into meal times before they say “I don’t like that”!

Anyway, time  to get back to what we are cooking this week, here is our meal plan for the week:

Our meal plan – 13/07/20

Monday –

Pizza – I have some frozen pizza’s so this makes it an easy weekly meal.

Tuesday –

Cottage pie – Not made one for a while but super simple.

Wednesday –

Chicken fajitas – We haven’t had these in a while so look forward to them.

Thursday –

Keema curry – Using up a portion that is already in the freezer, nice and easy.

Friday –

Takeaway – To celebrate the end of term and the start of the summer holidays.

Saturday –

BBQ – Another meal we didn’t have last week, we had leftover pie so we skipped takeaway and used that up instead. Nicer weather is here though so this should be lovely.

Sunday

Roast chicken & salad – Plan to cook the chicken in the slow cooker so I can have a chilled out day.
