Our Weekly Meal Plan – 20th January 2025

It is time for another weekly meal plan and it feels like just yesterday that we did the last one. As much as January is dragging by, the weeks are feeling as though they are flying by, so odd!

Anyway, let’s talk about food, our favourite topic! Last week’s meal plan went well, there was just 1 tweak as I forgot it was parent’s evening for Kayleigh and our tradition is on parent’s evening or report day, if you do well, you can pick a takeaway, so we had that on Thursday instead. I have to say it was delicious, we ordered from a place called BIMS and hands down they do the best chicken around.

The plan to run down the cupboard/freezer has gone well though it did mean that the shop at the weekend was slightly more expensive than I would have liked. We have however only topped up on things we are going to have in the coming weeks.

Let’s get to this week’s meal plan.

Our Weekly Meal Plan – 20th January 2025

Our weekly meal plan – 20/01/25

Monday –

Burgers and chips – Nice and simple, I have baked some rolls this morning for lunch and for the burgers (the recipe will be over on the food blog in the next week or so). We have the options of beef burgers or chicken burgers, so I let everyone pick and they can add their own toppings and sauces.

Tuesday –

Burritos – A portion of the burrito mix that I made a few weeks ago is in the freezer. So I plan to add fresh rice and roll it all up with sauce and jalapenos! Delicious and so quick to make too.

Wednesday –

Pizza night – Now in an ideal world, I am going to be trying out a new dough recipe. However, life doesn’t always go to plan so I do have some frozen pizza in the freezer as a backup.

Thursday –

Tuna pasta – Kids’ favourite and mine as it makes dinner time so quick. Nothing fancy, made using Coleman’s sauce packet.

Friday –

Punchy rice bowl – I brought a spice pack a while back but never used it, so planning something simple but tasty tonight

Saturday –

Pie & mash – Not too long ago we picked up some individual pies in the yellow sticker fridge, going to enjoy these with some mash and veggies!

Sunday –

Nando style wraps – Made using our air fryer, makes it simple and quick to make. Everyone can adjust their wraps to their taste preference.

Our Weekly Meal Plan – 20th January 2025

Nothing really new on the menu this week apart from the rice bowl but that is fine with me, it means I can get dinner done and dusted with minimal fuss and effort from me. I am going to try and spend a little time this week writing down all the different meal options we have and then hopefully that will give us a bit more variety moving forward.

There are also a few new dishes I would like to try and make that I have saved or pinned, so I am going to try and make time to give these a go. Maybe look to add 1 new recipe a week, then if it is popular we can add it to our rotation going forward. What do you have cooking this week? Are you a little like us and find you have similar recipes week after week?

I am hoping that this provides a little inspiration to you all but don’t forget to check our previous weekly meal plan here. Alternatively, why not check out our Pinterest boards here for more inspiration or even our food blog, The Family Cookbook where we share our favourite recipes.
