Good morning and welcome back to our last full week of November’s meal plan. I know that this is going to sound typically British, but I really can’t believe how fast this month has gone by. It seems like just yesterday we were preparing for the return to school in September.
Anyway, back to the meal plan!
Last week was a little up and down and I did the silly thing of ordering my food shopping without actually planning the meals for this week, so we are going in blind a bit with our choices. I have lots of odd bits and pieces to use up to in the fridge, cupboard and freezer so I am going to try and get a little organised with our meals and use them up this week if I can.
With Christmas just around the corner, I would like to make some space to be able to store some bits for food over the Christmas period so I need to get cracking with using up some of the things we have. Our kitchen is not the biggest so making the most of the space is key.
Anyway, enough about storage and my lack of planning and let’s get back to this weeks meal plan.
Our weekly meal plan – 22/11/21
Monday –
Mushroom, Bacon, Tomato and Zucchini Pasta – A way to use up lots of ingredients in our fridge that should have been used last week! It is a new recipe though so I am looking forward to trying this one out.
Tuesday –
Slow cooker beef Rogan – It has been a while since I cooked this recipe so I am looking forward to having this. The plan is to put it on before work so when we get home the kitchen smells amazing and I just need to then cook the rice. It is also using up some of the peppers that are past their best.
Wednesday –
Full English breakfast – This one is always popular as everyone can pick what they like, it is also pretty easy for me as I will be using our George Foreman to cook the majority of the meal, including my eggy bread!
Thursday –
Chilli Con Carne – Something already prepared in the freezer so it shouldn’t take too long.
Friday –
Spaghetti Bolognaise – Again, this is from a batch cook I did previously so it is pretty simple for me, thankfully as it is the start of the weekend!
Saturday –
Katsu curry – We have a spice mix to use up so looking forward to trying this one out.
Sunday –
Toad in the Hole – I can’t remember the last time I made a family size today in the hole, going to enjoy this with onion gravy and mash!
I am looking forward to this week’s meals, even if I did leave it to the last minute to actually plan our week. It is hard to get going in the evenings to cook dinner, we leave for work when it is dark and when we leave work to head home it is dark too! By the time I get home, I just want to get in my lazy house clothes and snuggle up on the sofa with a cuppa and the TV but I need to get back into better habits.
