*Review* Hamerton Zoo Park

Today we were very lucky to have received tickets for a day out at Hamerton Zoo Park. Visiting a zoo is on our summer bucket list (more on that to follow this week) and visiting one we had never been to was always going to be a big plus!

I’ll be honest I had never heard of Hamerton Zoo Park so I did a little bit of research before we headed there.

Located in Cambridgeshire, in 20 acres of beautiful countryside the zoo is quietly nestled away ready for its visitors.

Coming from Luton following our google maps app we found the zoo with no problems at all and the sun was shining on our arrival.

The zoo itself doesn’t have animals such as elephants or giraffes however don’t let that put you off. For what it might not have in big animals it makes up for it in beautiful animals it does have, the environment and setting plus the ability to get up and close with lots of these beautiful creatures.

We were very fortunate that the animals that didn’t want to come say hello on our first trip round the zoo came out in the afternoon and the kids got a second chance to see them. Also for the pens with higher walls there is lots of viewing windows for the little ones to look in at what is going on so you don’t need to keep picking them up.

As well as all the animals at the zoo there is also an amazing play area, a picnic area, a small café for grabbing some lunch (prices were very reasonable) and a shop to treat yourself to a souvenir.

Pretty much everything you need for an amazing day out.

In terms of the zoo itself, yes, its smaller and has fewer animals than some we have visited in the past however I think this works better.

The layout means the crowds are spread across the beautiful park and it gives you a chance to spend time looking at the animals without feeling pressured to move out of the way. Plus you get closer to the animals they do have which the kids loved.

It is amazing value for money too with the price of 2 adults 2 children only being £45.96 plus now you can get a 10% off voucher. Making it just over £40 for a whole day out.

We were really impressed with Hamerton Zoo Park and will have it on our days out list for a future trip! The combination of price, atmosphere and animals make it a great day out for the whole family.

Make sure you check back tomorrow too as I am giving away a family pass to visit the zoo!
