The bathroom is probably the room of the house that needs the most cleaning, but it is also the one which we tend to put off dealing with properly. However, there comes a time when you are ready to give your bathroom a really deep clean.

If you feel like that time has arrived, this article is here to give you a nudge in the right direction with some tips and techniques to deal with each aspect of this problematic room. You will also need the right wholesale cleaning supplies. So, roll up your sleeves and let’s get started.

Shower

Let’s start with the shower. Starting from the top, you can give the shower head a thorough soak in a bag of white vinegar overnight. Remove it in the morning and you can then rinse it off. Plastic shower curtains and liners can simply be given a spin in the washing machine with some regular detergent. For the tub or shower, you should use a bathroom cleaner, some hot water, and a whole load of elbow grease.

Grout and Tiles

Before you clean the grout or tiles of your bathroom, make sure that the space has proper ventilation to stop the fumes from getting to you. Alternatively, you could look into a professional tile and grout cleaning service. If you are going to do it yourself, dip a grout brush in bleach, scrub and discoloured areas, and rinse it all off well. As for the tiles, you can get a specifically designed brand of cleaner to deal with this particular area.

Toilet

Now we come to the area which everyone dreads cleaning – the toilet. Pour a cup of baking soda down into the bowl to start off with. Let it sit, brush it down and flush the toilet. If you are still seeing spots, you can use a damp pumice stone to remove the stains caused by mineral deposits. Since germs can end up all over the toilet when it is flushed, make sure that you take the time to clean the seat, handle, and other surfaces. You should also get into the habit of closing the lid every time you flush the toilet to prevent bacteria from getting everywhere.

Sink

The easiest way to clean the sink is to pour some white vinegar or baking soda down there and flush it through with some hot water. You can clean the faucet with disposable disinfecting wipes. If you are going to use cloths, you need to be very organised about where they are stored. Make sure that you clean the area thoroughly as studies have shown that it can actually attract more bacteria than the toilet!

Hand Towels

You should get into the habit of changing your hand towels on a regular basis and washing them in a sanitising setting. Spread them out on a bar rather than hanging them up on a hook as this will allow the air to circulate properly.

Deep cleaning your bathroom should be a regular part of your cleaning routine, and these are just a few of the ways of doing this.
