So many of us are working through the “to-do list” at home whilst this lockdown is in place, some are more enthusiastic than others! If you are working on inside of your house, you may be doing things such as decorating a room or maybe some big renovations in your home.
With many things to consider such as colour, soft furnishings and furniture. Flooring sometimes becomes a last-minute thought as you have planned everything else in the room and forgotten the floor! With so many options to pick from these days though, getting the right flooring for your home can be a little more of a tough decision for you.
More and more of us are now looking to take our homes back to a more natural look with lots of homes having wood flooring going back down. There are many benefits to picking a solid wood floor over the alternatives on the market, here are just some of them:
- Good quality flooring will stand the test of time – If you look after your flooring in the right way, you will find the flooring will stand well in time. It is shown to last a lot longer than carpet and other floorings and ages well too. It is work doing your homework on the flooring you are picking to ensure it suits your needs. Solid wood flooring is made from planks of wood, rather than processed wood. It is cut and designed for simple fitting but long-lasting quality.
- Easy to clean – If you have mucky feet or paws all over your floor, it can be difficult to keep it clean. However, this does not apply to wooden flooring. It is easy to clean and maintain and every time comes up looking as good as new! It is also better in terms of the smell too, there is no place to capture smells from pets for example and with a simple wash, it smells amazing again too. From a hygiene perspective, it is a great flooring option for those who struggle with dust allergies etc as there is nowhere for it to hide.
- It is always in trends – You just have to look back at homes through the years and see how wooden floors have always been on-trend. It is a great selling point for a home too as lots of people are now looking to move to wood flooring. The investment is there for the long run, whether you are planning to move or not, it will maintain its look throughout.
I would love to have a solid wood flooring in our home but with 2 dogs, I don’t think I could put up with their paws clicking around as they are wandering! I just think the wooden flooring opens up so many styles and designs to home, I can see the appeal to so many.
